BGS Productions, Inc. recognizes the unique ability and desire of each child to create and succeed. We work in concert with teachers, students, and parents to ensure their potential is realized.
The Founder The founder, Talitha V. Anyabwele`, (formerly Coverson) is a graduate of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. She became a 3rd through 8th grade Language Arts Instructor at Sakkara Youth Institute Independent School in Tallahassee, Florida. After two years of displaying classroom innovation, student achievement, and leadership among staff members, the director, Dr. Sharon Ames-Dennard, promoted Ms. Anyabwele` to principal. While in this position, she facilitated the development of a writing curriculum, led the school to achieving one of the highest overall standardized test scores in the state, and received numerous academic awards and recognitions on behalf of the success of the students. She later used her skills to develop and implement a 6th grade writing curriculum for True North Rochester Preparatory School in upstate New York where the students improved from 61% earning a 3 or higher on the NYS ELA to 88% in one year. Ms. Anyabwele uses the curriculum she's developed, coupled with the tools from on-site educators to enhance student academic achievement and overall student morale. Her primary passion is empowering through education.
Company History
BGS Productions, Inc. was founded in November 2005 for the purpose of enhancing the lives of others through the one-woman show, Black Girl Speaks. It has since expanded to offer academic enhancement and empowerment workshops as well as tutorial services that are geared towards improving reading and writing scores on standardized tests, and higher academic performance. The company now has two divisions; one focuses on empowerment through performing arts and the other through education. The proven system has been known to impact students, teachers, and parents in a way that creates a more successful learning environment. We work in partnership with dedicated teachers while Building Greater Success one achievement at a time!
